Spring is in the air at Canalside |
You can tell it’s nearly Spring because new things are sprouting up everywhere at Canalside Community Radio 102.8fm.
On Monday evenings, 8-9:30pm, CCR’s fresh voice of the Sixties, Rob Nickson, is rolling back the years, playing fab songs form an era when everything was groovy, hip, n’ happenin’.
Also springing up for the new season, every Saturday, footie experts Ian and Sarah join you at 12:45 to discuss the afternoon’s matches, bring you scores as they happen, and share a little of the beautiful game’s trivia.
And last, but if you’ve seen this man on the live circuit around Macclesfield, most certainly not least, Andy Hofton will be shaking up your Thursday nights with his all new ‘Let Me Entertain You’ show at 10 pm.
Don’t forget, we’re still running Valentine’s Competitions to win meals at local venues, The Black Swan, in Lower Withington, and the Ridge Restaurant, Hollin Hall, in Bollington. Competitions run every hour at Canalside, and the draws for the meals will be taking place on Friday, February 12th.
Our Schools Studio Tours with presenter Liz Stringer are proving popular. Pupils from St Benedict’s, in Wilmlsow, and St Gregory’s in Bollington, visited us last week, and many children recorded messages for Canalside; listen out for them on the Breakfast Show, every weekday from 7 am. And, if your school would like the chance to see what goes on inside a busy radio station, just call Liz on: 01625 576689, or email:
